All level four hospitals in Kisii County will receive theatre equipment in the next financial year.

Speaking on Friday in Nyamache Sub-County, Governor James Ongwae promised to equip all the dispensaries and level four hospitals in the county to improve healthcare.

"Nyamache Level Four Hospital is now fully equipped to give services to the people. The well-equipped theatre is now in operation,” said Ongwae.

He added that the hospitals will also mortuaries and theatres.

The governor also promised to give education a priority to increase the bursary kitty from the two million to seven million shillings in every ward in the county.

Ongwae urged the community to be involved in the running of development in the county to change the face of the county.

The governor was accompanied by Health CeC Sarah Omache who assured the community of support to sustainable and affordable health care in the entire county.

“We can’t relax until we ensure all people in the county all living healthy lives by giving you the best health services. That is my duty and responsibility,” she said.

The new theatre will, ostensibly, help residents receive faster treatment services without having to travelling for operations and giving birth in other hospitals far from home.

The facility has a modern maternity, a theatre, a patient ward and new machines.

The Bobasi Sub-County Health Officer Dr David Okinyi said that the facility has so far had four people operated on.

Last week, a similar facility was opened at Keumbu in Nyaribari Chache constituency.
