A Kisii-based Non-governmental Organization has challenged the media to highlight on the health reproductive issues and family planning.
Speaking on Thursday at Dados hotel in Kisii during the launch of the Daraja United Women and Youths Empowerment Organization, the NGO chief executive officer Winfridah Abuya, said they would achieve in passing the message to a wide spectrum of audience using the media.
“The media is an important tool in dissemination of information to the public. The main mandate of our NGO is to train and help mothers and the youths on the importance of observing reproductive and embracing family planning. We will achieve this through coverage and dissemination of our programmes,” noted the CEO.
Abuya also challenged other NGOs to join hands in a combated effort to fight against vulnerability and help people with information about reproductive health and family planning.
“I ask other NGOs like the Network of Adolescence Youth of Africa (NAYA) that has been our partner to stand with us so that we can help our people understand about RH and FP,” called on the CEO.
NAYA officer, Immaculate Oliechi promised to work with DAUWOYE in capacity building among the youths to enable them undertake reproductive health precautions serious.
