Kisii parents led by their chairman Richard Ogembo have lauded the teachers union for calling off their strike that has been active for the past five weeks.

According to the parents, their children have been suffering a lot since the teachers strike commenced in the country.

Speaking to hivisasa.com, the Kisii parents chair Richard Ogembo lauded the teachers union for calling off their strike. He also challenged the national government to obey the court rule and pay teachers the same way teachers have obeyed the court order by getting back to class today.

“Teachers have shown how they respect the court. I am requesting our national government to also obey the court order and give teachers their salary increase of 50-60 percent,” said Richard Ogembo.

Meanwhile Kisii parents have revealed their fear that the candidates may fail in their national exam that is just around the corner. They have challenged the teachers to teach the candidates up to 6pm to recover time wasted during the strike.

“Let our teachers prepare the candidates positively and we shall be happy when students pass the national exam with flying colors,” said victor Mose, one of the concerned parents.
