Kisii County Government, through the Ministry of Health, has set up resources to organise meetings to educate residents on Malaria.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday at Kisii Referral and Teaching Hospital, Health CeC Sarah Omache said that they have set aside resources that can be used to organise meetings with the residents to be taught on how to fight malaria.
Omache said that it is important for the county to organise such meetings, so that residents can be taught on the effects of malaria, and on how to protect themselves from the disease.
“We have set up resources that can help us to visit residents in their various places so that we can teach them on how to fight malaria and on how to protect themselves from it,” said Omache.
According to the minister, the only way to fight this disease is to visit the residents in their sub-counties, so that they can be taught on some of the basic protective measures like living in a clean and mosquito free environment.
She also said that her ministry is looking forward to ensuring that it deals with any diseases as one way of protecting residents from poor health.
