Ochola said that the Vision Fund organization is targeting to give loans to about 35,000 people from the region by the end of this year adding that the programme has already given loans to 12 000 people so far.

He said that they brought female church leaders from about 700 churches with each church having two representatives noting that after the workshop they expect every church to start a women self-help group comprising of 40 women each.

“We asked each one of the 700 churches to give us two representatives from the women leaders to come for this 4 day workshop and we expect them to use the knowledge from here to help women form groups of 40 members each because by the end of this year we want to help up to 35 000 people in Kisii County,” he said.
