A primary school teacher from Moticho village is alleged to have impregnated a 13-year-old girl and her mother who have both delivered babies and want him to support.
According to eye witnesses, the girl accompanied by her uncle and several villagers and stormed the teacher’s house on Monday morning and demanded for some sort of cleansing, accusing him of committing a taboo, by going against African tradition and culture, especially in marriage and procreation.
“What the teacher did is not just a great shame to our clan but also an abuse to the African tradition and culture. This girl will never be allowed back to her home until and after some sort of, and elaborate ritual has been carried out to appease the gods in charge of procreation,” said her uncle Erick Chagara.
Swift intervention efforts by area assistant Chief, Dennis Obungu saved the teacher from being beaten by the irate villagers.
According to the Chief the mother of the child was dating the teacher only to be shocked her daughter was pregnant and when investigation was done it was discovered that the teacher also secretly dated the girl.
Speaking to journalists, the shocked standard 7 pupil at Riamaya primary narrated her love experience with the teacher, blaming him for trapping her into the mess using sweets and mandazis, while knowing well he had already done the same to her mother who stays several miles away.
