Kisii County Assembly majority leader Protus Moindi has called on traders to form Saccos to lobby for better policies and improve their financial standing.

Moindi reiterated that Sacco unions would act as a platform to air traders’ grievances to concerned authorities as opposed to being championed by individuals.

“Operating business under a recognized and registered body is the way to go with the fast growing towns in the County and also this will help you to grow and also easily get access to loans from various bodies for business expansion,” he said.

Addressing traders at a public forum in Daraja Mbili today he urged the residents to participate during public finance bill forums as they provided the only platform to pushing for funding of projects through the County Government.

Moindi said that during its tenure in office, they county government would focus on building markets in all major towns in the County urging traders to be involved in their formation.

“I am sure the county government of Kisii will not build markets to get votes for 2017 but as a duty to deliver services to the residents of Kisii, and we want you to come up with various proposals to help us on the same,” said the Moindi .
