NTA Nyanza regional coordinator Deurence Onyango says Kisumu joins Busia, Nyeri, Kwale and Tana River in the project.

Onyango says the project goal is to contribute to the promotion of good governance, transparency and accountability in the management of public funds, oversight and monitoring.

She explained that the five counties were selected on the basis that NTA has already established constituency monitoring committees.

Speaking in Kisumu on Tuesday morning ahead of training scheduled for Kisumu County Accountability Networks.

Onyango says the networks had monitored on a pilot basis, the development of the County Integrated Development Plans (CIDP).

She says the project is aimed at consolidating and expanding the gains already achieved in the pilot.

Onyango further noted that NTA works in partnership with stakeholders including those directly managing resources and the oversight institutions both at the national and county levels.

Targeted stakeholders include the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA), the auditor general's office and Controller of Budget amongst others.
