Viwandani MCA Esther Mureithi said schools, hospitals and some government offices do not have title deeds for the pieces of lands they have been constructed on.

Consequently, the situation has been impacted negatively on expansion and development plans of the said institutions.

Speaking in Naivasha town during a stakeholders meeting on Monday, Mureithi revealed that the Nakuru county assembly was concerned that the situation provided leeway for grabbers.

She however, said the assembly was collaborating with the management of the mentioned institution to identify affected parcels of land so that they are able to acquire the document and embark on expansion plans.

''We want to avoid scenarios where unscrupulous individuals re-surface to lay claim to already developed properties in the sub county thus retarding development,'' she said

The meeting brought together community members, companies and church leaders, who had been called to strategise on how to completely overhaul Naivasha Boarding Primary School to a modern institution.

The school's head teacher, Daniel Ngunjiri, said the school that has been in existence for the past 60 years was designed to accommodate a few hundreds of pupils but due to demand for quality education, its current infrastructure was strained.
