The chairman of public service Board Joseph Tanui has put on notice Uasin Gishu county government employees who are fond of frequent absenteeism or coming to work late.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Saturday, Tanu said that his body which is mandated to hire, fire and discipline county officials has taken strict measures to ensure that county official conduct themselves accordingly.

"I was very saddened and disappointed on Thursday when the county secretary and i came to work earlier than our junior officials who are supposed to report to work by 8 am," he said.

He added that employees of the county are mandated to serve the Uasin Gishu residents from 8am to 5pm and stern action would be taken against anyone who was not found in the office during the official working hours.

He also urged Uasin Gishu county to play an oversight role by reporting any Uasin Gishu county government official who did not serve them well.
