Chiefs and their assistants have been urged to coordinate and work with residents in ensuring cases of livestock theft in Borabu are curbed.
Speaking in Borabu on Sunday, a lawyer from the area, Yobesh Kambi urged chiefs and other national government administration officers to join hands in ensuring such cases of livestock thieves are minimised and eventually stopped.
"I urge our local chiefs and administrators to work hand in hand in ensuring that cases of livestock theft is controlled in this area," Kambi said.
He further urged the administration police to increase their efforts in ensuring that perpetrators of the crime are arrested and arraigned in court.
"To our administration police I urge that you all fasten your boots in ensuring livestock thieves are nabbed and taken to court for them to serve as an example to others," he added.
A section of residents complained that cases of theft of livestock, especially cows, have been on the rise while accusing the police of negligence.
