A section of leaders from Nakuru county have called on police to fasten their investigation on torching of Menengai Ward Member of County Assembly Lucy Kihumba's house and vehicle.

The leaders termed the incident unfortunate and called for quick reaction from the police.

"We are saddened with what has happened to our colleague today, it is indeed a great loss to us and we will continue standing with her in this time," said Nominated MCA Catherine Waweru.

She added, "those behind this should be identified very fast so that action can be taken against them."

The incident is said to have started at around 3am, which left the MCA’s house reduced to ashes with the raiders also setting her Toyota Rav 4 vehicle on fire.

All occupants of the house, including Kihumba escaped unhurt.

Police have launched investigations into the matter.
