Farmers from Machakos County have benefited from Agricultural Training College (ATC) through training programs carried out by the Institute.

Speaking during a certificate award ceremony, the deputy Principal of ATC Machakos Ms Nancy Mbai commended the different farmers who had embraced informed farming as a result of training.

"We have seen great improvements in how farmers are planting and farming since we began the training exercise last month. Farmers have purchased the right seeds and prepared their lands in the right way," said Mbai.

Mbai was the guest of honour at the ceremony which saw several institutions awarded for taking part in the life transforming exercise that has been going on since September 17, 2015.

Commenting on the exercise, one of the experts Mr John Muir from a seeds company known as FRESCO seeds encouraged farmers to attend the agricultural Training College seminar to learn the importance of seeds in getting good harvest.

Florence Muthoki who is also an expert from Elgon Kenya Seeds limited said that, "all Farmers should purpose to attend next year's show as we will have seeds, pesticides and ways of how to farm informed lined up for you."

Some of other companies represented were Kickstart Limited which specialises on best seeds for commercial farming.
