A 39-year-old man on Thursday was charged before a Kisumu court for breaking into a house and stealing property worth Sh50,000.
Bramuel Orwa denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Esther Maina for the offence he is said to have committed on September 12.
The court heard that the accused gained access into the house of Jezel Owina by breaking the door during the day and stealing a television set worth Sh50,000.
He is said to have been a former employee at the complainant's Migosi home.
The court heard that Orwa was the prime suspect in the case after eye witnesses who know him said they saw him leaving the compound with the television set.
The prosecution told the court that the stolen TV was yet to be recovered saying if the accused was set free he would potentially interfere with investigation.
He was remanded for seven days until Thursday October 1, when he is expected to make a bail application.
