A man collapsed and died on Thursday evening in Nakuru town’s central business district, along Kenyatta Avenue.

The man, identified as Sammy Wanyonyi, was in the company of his friends when he collapsed near Diamond Trust Bank.

One of his friend’s, Stanley Njuguna, said Wanyonyi complained of a headache in the afternoon. He bought painkillers and said he was feeling well a few minutes later.

Njuguna added: "I was shocked to see him collapse. He had improved after taking the painkillers.”

Wanyonyi’s wife, Mary Kwamboka, said her husband had complained of a headache for three days but they did not think it was serious.

Wanyonyi’s body was taken to a Nakuru hospital mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
