A man was on Friday arraigned before a Nakuru court for making a document without authority from a concern party.
Humphrey Kiprono alias Robert Bett, with others not arrested, was accused of making a document and purported it to be a genuine Safaricom employment letter and issued it to Mary Kosgei with an intention to defraud her on September 12 in Nakuru town.
Kiprono on a second count was accused of altering a document without authority.
He allegedly issued a document which he made and issued to Kosgei knowingly that it was not a genuine document but only intended to defraud her on September 16.
On a third count, he allegedly obtained Sh40,000 by falsely pretending that the letter he had made was a genuine Safaricom letter of employment and gave it to Kosgei on diverse dates between September 18 and 23 along Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru town.
Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate Liz Gicheha, Kipono pleaded not guilty and was given a surety bond of Sh60,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be heard on November 5, 2015.
