A man was arraigned before a Nakuru court on Thursday for stealing money from an Mpesa agent.

Peter Njoroge is accused of allegedly stealing Sh48, 000 along with others who have not been apprehended from an Mpesa business belonging to Milicent Mwangi on August 28 within Nakuru Town.

According to the prosecution, the suspect allegedly came with others pretending to make transactions from the agent before threatening the cashier and run away.

Njoroge whom the cashier marked was letter tracked with the help of the police and arrested on Tuesday. 

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo, he pleaded not guilty and was released on  a cash bail of Sh30,000.

the case will be heard on September 28.
