Police in Thika on Saturday retrieved the body of unknown man which was dumped in construction site in Pilot Estate of Thika Sub-County.
Workers in the construction site woke up to discover the shocking sight in one of the incomplete rooms at the site. They immediately informed the police.
Thika OCS Mr Robert Okinya said the body had deep cuts on the arms and legs adding the man might have been murdered and dumped on the site overnight.
Okinya told the press at the scene that the incident is a rare occurrence in the area adding the security of residents is always assured due to the strong belief in Nyumba Kumi and Community Policing by the residents.
"This has come unexpectedly as the people of this Estate formed groups to tame insecurity and it has been working for over three months now without a single criminal incident. We are probing this and we are sure to identify the man as well as the suspects," he assured.
Members of the public from the area have not yet identified the deceased. Police are calling on anyone who has lost a relative to report to the police so as to help with investigations.
He has further called on the residents of the area not to relent on the security issue despite the incident.
