A middle aged man was critically injured after he was knocked down by a hit and run motorist at Mwembe estate along Kisii Ogembo highway on Wednesday.
The man identified as Cyrus Omwoyo who works at Kisii law courts as an electrician was going to his place of work at 9.30am when he was involved in the accident.
Eye witnesses said the man was crossing the road when the speeding motorist headed to Kisi town from Ogembo direction knocked him down.
They said they could not capture the plate number of the speeding vehicle after the accident but said the driver was a well known business man in Kisii twon.
Area traffic commandant, Justine Tundura who confirmed the accident said the injured man suffered a broken leg and severe head injuries and added that he is currently admitted at Kisii level Five Hospital.
He said the eye witnesses have been summoned to the police station to record statement in a bid to apprehend the driver.
“We are going to make sure that the motorist is arrested since the eye witness have volunteered to record a statement that will help us in further investigation” said Tundura
