Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has asked county executives to oversee and supervise the implementation of government projects.
Speaking at Langas estate in Eldoret town on Friday, Mandago said the county has committed adequate funds to various projects which need close monitoring for successful completion.
He said that county executives have the responsibility of monitoring the projects and also coming up with policies on development.
The governor said various projects including road repairs, upgrading of hospitals and construction of Early Childhood Education Centers (ECDs) need close supervision.
“The county government has committed a lot of money to development projects and it will be mandatory for executives to monitor and ensure the projects are completed within the required time,” said Mandago.
Governor Mandago said the county government aims to complete all its projects before the next general elections.
He cited road and transport infrastructure, health, agriculture, trade and education as key areas the county aims to boost.
Mandago further urged county ward representatives to also support the government on development.
He said the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have been allocated development money to push for more development at the ward level.
The Uasin Gishu county boss said the support of all leaders in the county will propel development.
On the same note, Mandago asked contractors who have been awarded development tenders to complete the projects on time.
Mandago said that the county will not tolerate shoddy projects and lazy contractors.
