Speaking in his office on Monday, Mandago said that the footpath was mainly constructed for pedestrian use and not motorbikes, trolleys and bicycles, which cause accidents.

“We constructed the foot path at a whooping Sh100 million to avoid pedestrians walking along the road, which was very and caused accidents, and I will not accept it to be used by other machines other that pedestrians,” he said.

“I warn such individuals that anyone who will be found will be arrested and stern actions taken against them since they are endangering people’s lives,” he added.

He further urged pedestrians to report such individuals with their numbers plates, warning that they will be banned completely from operating in the county.

“I urge Uasin Gishu residents to use the footpath for their own physical exercises which in return will cut their costs on drugs by half,” he added.
