Alternative health service is at the disposal of Nakuru county residents after Marie Stopes officially opened offices in the county.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the clinic on Thursday, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua reiterated his efforts to providing affordable and available health services to all county residents.

According to Mbugua, such initiatives were a mile storm in ensuring that his campaign promises are fulfilled in the most affordable manner possible.

“Among my campaign pledges was provision of quality health care and such collaborations are worth in helping anybody achieve that. I am ready to offer any support needed in ensuring such projects prosper in Nakuru,” he said.

The Marie Stopes project is among numerous health projects initiated by the county government after the first lady led beyond zero campaign and KEMSA drug distribution campaign.

The governor revealed that the programme is aimed at benefiting all sub-county headquarters saying that among his priorities were to provide effective health care,

“A healthy society is a working society which translates to a productive society, my aim is to foresee a Nakuru that will ensure everyone’s capability becomes fully utilised,” he noted.

Youth empowerment is among campaign pledges that Mbugua promised to fulfil once elected into office and all eyes are on him to ensure that it’s materialised come 2017 when the next general election will be held.

The clinic officially opened on Friday at the Master’s Plaza in the Nakuru Central Business District (CBD).
