Students from both Primary and secondary schools in Kitutu Masaba constituency have a reason to smile, after area MP confirmed that he will facilitate a project of ensuring all area institutions are served with clean water.
This comes a day after Timothy Bosire held the first ever meeting with six elected MCAs from the region since he was elected in 2013.
Speaking in Omoyo secondary school on Wednesday when he paid the institution a courtesy call, the ODM legislator said the will set aside Sh10 million from the CDF kitty to facilitate the programme, with area MCAs agreeing to give a total of Sh2 million towards the project.
“Water has been a key issue in our institutions given that most of them are becoming boarding schools. I have spoken with your MCAs and they have agreed to support my Sh12 million plans that will commence this financial year,” he said.
Bosire yet again told off his critics, asking them to engage in constructive politics without necessarily defaming his name, besides defending their recent Press Conference in Nyamira town that was disrupted by youths suspected to have been hired by Governor John Nyagarama.
“I am committed to ensure my tenure ends in peace. I have always supported education and now water project. Let those planning to oppose give constructive criticism, Governor Nyagarama should also remember that we are also leaders from Nyamira County,” he said.
The MP, who is also the ODM National treasurer projected that the ambitious plan will be completed by the end of this financial year on June 2016.
