Maseno University forthcoming graduation will continue as scheduled despite the closure of the institution. This is according to the university's Public Relations officer Jasper Otieno.
According to Mr Otieno, the closure of the university only permitted the students to go home, while other staff members remained at the institution to work on the graduation.
"Events witnessed within the institution will not affect the graduation ceremony slated for December 4 this year. The university is working around the the clock to realise it," read a statement released on Monday.
Many students who are set to graduate had raised fears that their much awaited graduation might be postponed, something that could inconvenience them.
Despite the assurance, some students faulted the institution's decision to postpone the supplementary exams that were supposed to be administered on October 15.
"If the supplementary exams have been pushed, then when will we have the time to do them, get marked and at the same time graduate on December 4? We hope that by that date everything will be in order," posted Sammy Gitaru on the university's Facebook page.
