Parents from Mavoko location have been advised to closely monitor movements of their female children in order to ensure that they are always safe and protected from child molesters.
Addressing members of the public at a baraza on Tuesday, the Area Chief, Nzau Komo, said most of the parents from the location had not taken full responsibilities of their female children.
"I call on all the parents with female children in this location to take good responsibility of the children, monitor their movements at all times," said Komo.
Komo said some of the parents had forgotten their parental responsibilities of providing and protecting their children from possible child abusers.
He said such culprits at times took advantage of the gaps between parents and their children and failures to effectively provide for their families to lure the victims.
The chief revealed that some of those who defile children from the region lured their victims with goodies, in most cases food staff, snacks or cheap money before they forcefully defile them.
Sharon Malobe, a parent from Mavoko said majority of child molesters from the region were people well know to the victims and their parents adding that some were relatives.
Malobe argued that it is inhuman to defile a minor hence called on the law enforcers to be more strict and treat culprits of such crimes with equal inhumanity.
Komo said that days of child molesters in the location were numbered hence advised individuals with the behaviors which he termed weighed to change, move out of Mavoko or be ready to force wrath of the law.
