Residents of Mavoko sub-county have been told to be wary of increasingly high numbers of conmen in the region so as not to lose their money.
Addressing hivisasa in his office on Thursday, Area Deputy County Commissioner, Kodeck Makori, said several idlers had gotten to land broking within the sub county thereby ending up defrauding unsuspecting people.
"I call on the Mavoko residents to be wary of the increasing number of land conmen and women who have flooded the land trade industry in Mavoko sub county to avoiding losing more of their money," said Makori.
Makori said several people were idle in the region thereby getting into land broking as the only business where they fraud their preys hard-earned moneys.
He retaliated that each time he holds a sub-county land board in his offices, several individuals and groups who purport to be selling land present fake land ownership documents.
The commissioner said there were lots of reported cases in his offices over people claiming to have been issued with fake receipts and had not been given parcels of land which were allegedly sold to them.
Makori faulted such victims revealing that most of them get compromised by the conmen whenever security agents take up the matter so that the culprits can be nabbed by police and arraigned in court for obtaining money through false pretense.
He said that those victims who end up colluding with the corns should seize reporting to his office if they know they would end up protecting the criminals.
