Kamenu Ward MCA Mary Hussein has appealed to the Kiambu County government to construct a sewerage system in Kiganjo and Kamenu estates.

Speaking in Kiganjo on Monday, Hussein said the population of the two estates has significantly grown which calls for improved sanitation facilities to avoid outbreak of diseases.

"Kiganjo, Kamenu and other surrounding estates continue to attract huge numbers of tenants with some who work in Nairobi preferring to stay here. We therefore need proper sanitation facilities as more residential houses continue to come up," said Hussein.

The MCA also called for quick completion of Kang'ooki modern dumpsite which is expected to ease the problem of waste disposal in Kiambu County.

The MCA lauded the county government for its plan to upgrade all Kiganjo feeder roads.

"Residents in this area have lived with muddy roads for a long time but the county government has realised the importance of Kiganjo in the Kiambu economy and we are happy about it," she said.
