Mavoko Water and Sewerage Company will soon address water and sewerage problems that has hit Mlolongo Town for decades.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Mavoko Assistant Commissioner Mose Obed said the residents had suffered from problems related to lack of the amenities for a long period of time.

"Mavoko Water and Sewerage Company will finally solve the water and sewerage problem in Mlolongo Town once and for all in a bid to relieving the residents from problems related to lack of the amenities," said Obed.

The commissioner said his office had been informed that the process of constructing sewerage systems had began alongside connecting the town houses to piped water.

He said the town had been poorly planned and therefore could not effectively sustain the numbers that kept increasing due to urbanisation.

Obed said only septic tanks were available in buildings within the town, both residential and commercial hence the need for well constructed sewerage systems.

He called on the Machakos County government to revise the town's old development plan so as to come up with a modern new one that comprises all important amenities required by the residents.
