Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has commissioned a dental chair and an x-ray machine at the Molo district hospital, all valued at Sh5.3 million.

This is part of a larger consignment that will be distributed to various medical centres in the sub-county.

According to the Nakuru County boss, the x-ray machine will help boost the quality of dental services being given to the residents.

“We have severe cases of people with teeth problems. We hope that this will help improve efficiency in our dental facilities,” he added.

Mbugua added that there were plans to improve the quality of water supplied in the county to deal with the fluorine issue.

“It’s unfortunate that in the past, residents’ teeth have been affected by the water provided to them. We will start providing clean water to the residents to prevent tooth decay,” Mbugua added.

He said the county government’s ministry of health is committed to ensuring responsible promotion, regulation and provision of health care services to the people of Nakuru.

Governor Mbugua added that his government is committed to ensuring that the services are of high quality and accessible to every citizen.

He added that through the ministry, the government will ensure that the provision of services must go on irrespective of the various teething challenges in the process of implementing the newly devolved system of governance.
