Police in Molo on Wednesday arrested a 67-year-old man for allegedly defiling his daughter on more than three occasions.
According area OCPD Richard Masinde, the matter was brought to their attention by a neighbour after the child confided in her about the beastly act.
The suspect is said to have taken advantage of his daughter after he separated from his wife three months ago as a result of his drunkenness and domestic violence.
"We acted on a tip off from a concerned neighbour and luckily we managed to arrest the suspect," the OCPD said.
He further noted that preliminary medical examinations indicated that the minor had contracted a sexually transmitted infection, but called for patience as they try to get more details concerning the case.
The suspect will be arraigned in court on Thursday after all the evidence has been gathered, the police boss said.
