Residents of Borabu constituency have called on the county government to equip dispensaries with enough man power.

The call came after Nyansiongo Township residents complained of delays in service delivery at the dispensaries.

On Tuesday, residents led by former Mekenene Councillor Julius Kaka accused the county government of ignoring their plight despite constant promises to employ more staff.

“The county government is taking long to deploy more medical officers to our hospitals and dispensaries," Kaka said.

"People are suffering in the constituency with some forced to seek medication in the neighboring Bomet County. The acute shortage of medics ought to be resolved."

“Our dispensaries in Esise and Mogusii are not operating. We will not pay taxes until the issue is resolved."

The County Chief Executive in charge of Health Douglas Bosire admitted of the acute shortage but appealed for patience since the county was in the process of concluding interviews for staff yet to be hired.

“I understand what they are going throw but those who were shortlisted are still undergoing interview," he told Hivisasa.com on phone.

"They must wait for the exercise to be completed."
