Motorists who use the Juja-Nyacaba road are planning to demonstrate against a contractor repairing the road for leaving soil on the road near the Ndarugo quarry bridge rendering the section impassable.
The situation has been complicated further by rains in the area which has led to the section being impassable due to the slippery road surface. Three vehicles on Monday morning had minor accidents occasioned by the slippery surface according to Juja OCS Luke Odiwuor.
The Witeithie ward administrator James Gichuru, who is a regular motorist on the road in an exclusive interview said that vehicles were skidding in the morning saying that the area was very dangerous as it was near the bridge.
He recalled that the contractor SS Mehta and Sons had been working on the road for over a year yet the repair work was not completed yet.
Contacted for comment, the Juja Sub-County works officer Eng. Samuel Rukwaro confirmed that he had the reports that vehicles were skidding dangerously at the section. He said that he had informed the resident Engineer on the condition of that section to assist in finding a remedy for the situation.
