Nyando MP Fred Outa has encouraged orphans in his constituency who are still schools not to lose hope in life and work harder in school.
Outa said life does not stop when one becomes an orphan and told them to strive to work harder in their education. He said he was orphaned when he was still young and that did not deter his ambitions in life.
The MP said orphans should not always wait to be helped but must struggle to enjoy a better life.
He said his tribulations when growing up did not stop him from becoming an MP and told the orphans who are studying to aim higher.
“I was orphaned when I was a young boy, that did not stop me from working hard and becoming your MP,” revealed MP Outa to the students.
Outa spoke on Friday at Oren Mixed Secondary School in his constituency and promised to pay part of the school fees from his Outa Foundation to around 10 students studying at that school who are total orphans.
He told the orphans not to be discouraged in life and pledge to pay Sh40,000 to cater for part of their school fees.
“Through my Foundation I will pay half of school fees owned by these 10 students who are total orphans,” said Outa.
The MP presided over a ground breaking of four classrooms at the school to be built at Sh5 million through CDF. He further promised them a school bus if their enrolment increases by next year.
