Gilgil MP Mathenge Ndiritu has demanded for the arrest and prosecution of land grabbers in the region.
Speaking at Ol Begi estate over the weekend, the legislator said land grabbing had slowed down development and called for investigations against some investors who he accused of seizing public land.
“I am concerned by the number of land grabbing cases in this constituency. The government should come in and investigate,” the MP said.
The lawmaker was speaking after leading residents in fencing off a piece of land that had allegedly been grabbed by a local developer. The plot had been earmarked for construction of a primary and a secondary school.
