Ugenya MP David Ochieng has been advised not to reintroduce a Bill seeking to extend the term of the Jubilee government.

Nyando MP Fred Outa said the Bill that was shot down intended to reschedule the general election to December 2017 from August 2017.

Outa told MP Ochieng not to reintroduce that Bill again after its passage was defeated in Parliament.

He said Kenyans were tired with the Jubilee government and would want them to go and face another election.

“Every Kenyan wants elections early and would not want the election date to be extended by four months," he said.

The MP said Cord leader Raila Odinga was eagerly awaiting for elections to deliver the country from corruption and other ills affecting the country.

Speaking in his constituency on Saturday, Mr Outa said MPs will shoot the Bill down before the house if Mr  Ochieng reintroduces it once more.

He said all elective seats should be vacant by August in 2017 to allow Kenyans to go to the general election to elect new leaders of their choice.

Outa said he will rally his colleagues in parliament to be on the lookout and once again shoot down the Bill if presented before parliament.

“I want to appeal to Cord MPs to once again rebel against the Bill if Mr Ochieng reintroduces it in parliament,” he said.

The push by MP Ochieng for an extension of Parliament's term through his Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill 2015 flopped after MPs failed to mobilise the requisite numbers.
