Majority of patients at the hospital decried segregation and alienation from distribution of resources, saying that Governor Kinuthia Mbugua was concentrating on Nakuru at the expense of other sub-counties.

"Why should three ambulances lie idle at the county headquarters while we suffer trying to get to hospital for medical attention?" wondered Bonface Mbogo.

Anne Wanjiku said something should be done urgently, citing an example of expectant mothers who develop complications on their way to hospital.

“We have turned motorcycles into ambulances which really inconvenience a majority of us, let our county government do something about it," she said.

Last week, Governor Mbugua received three ambulances from USAID to help ease service delivery across major hospitals in the county.

The officer in charge of the hospital, Joseph Mburu, could not be reached for comment as he was locked up in a meeting.
