The Nakuru County government will file a case against the National government for delaying to construct a dual carriageway at the Salgaa black spot, governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said.

Speaking today at the Rift Valley General Hospital after visiting victims of Sunday's Salgaa accident, the governor asked the National government to urgently allocate funds for the project.

The dual carriage will be constructed from Sachang’wan to Ngata area to avert the high number of accidents at the Salgaa black spot.

Mbugua expressed displeasure over the central government’s failure to provide the funds for the construction of a special lane.

The National Transport and Safety Authority has recommended the construction of a dual carriage on the Salgaa-Mau Summit stretch, which has claimed more than 30 lives this year alone.

Ten of the victims admitted at the hospital on Sunday are in a stable condition. They include four women, two children and four men. The weekend accident, which involved seven vehicles, caused the deaths of 10 people.
