Nakuru Residents Association (NRA) chairman Wycliffe Agesa wants Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to allocate resources fairly to all regions in the county for equitable development and growth.

Speaking at Nakuru Town on Sunday, the lobby chair alleged that the county was favouring some regions in resource allocation.

The chairman said that they had information of the county favouring certain areas in resource allocation and development projects.

Agesa stated that fair resource distribution will propel development in all parts of the county adding that any form of favouritism in resource allocation is likely to hinder development.

He said that all Nakuru citizens have a right to get fair resource allocation.

The NRA chairman further called on the county government to put in place measures that will protect usage of public resources.

He said accountability and transparency is key to realisation of development saying that misuse of public funds is a major issue likely to hinder the success of devolution in Nakuru and other counties across the country.

Agesa said that recent Auditor General's reports of misuse of public resources in some counties is a clear indication that some county governments are out to enrich themselves at the expense of the citizens.
