A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters in Nakuru have threatened to decamp if the party’s secretariat fails to acknowledge the list of elected leaders in a grassroots elections conducted last week.
The supporters led by Charles Dulo whose says his name was replaced by Omondi Ochieng as County Secretary General, were addressing the press in Nakuru on Saturday where they gave the party’s secretariat a two day ultimatum to reverse alleged changes made on the list of their elected officials.
"We as leaders will show our people direction, we have many parties in the country which are still open for new members. We want a party which listens to the voice of the people but not run by dictators," Dulo said.
According to the supporters, the ODM secretariat had altered the list of leaders they elected in the elections. They now call upon the party leader Raila Odinga and the Registrar of political parties, Judith Pareno to intervene and solve the problem.
"We call upon Raila Odinga and John Mbadi to lead the line and kick out officials who are inclined to selfish gains rather than serve the interest of Kenyans," Dulo added.
The Nakuru ODM elections were held last weekend and were concluded in Gilgil last Tuesday with Peter Ole Sono and Sospeters Tomato declaring themselves winners of the county chairman's seat.
