Nakuru has been ranked 4th among best counties during the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) distinguished tax payers awards 2015.
The awards ceremony, which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), saw the tax payers authority fete the country’s top performers in regard to submitting their returns on time.
The president encouraged all Kenyans to make it a habit paying their taxes to ease service delivery.
“Better services are brought by embracing the culture of remitting our returns on time to help improve on the available resources," he said.
Nakuru came after Kisii County which was first, followed by Meru then Nyeri.
KRA rewarded individuals, Parastatals, corporates, government agencies and county governments for their exemplary and timely remitting of tax returns.
