Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has appealed to the youth in Nyamira County to process for ID cards ahead of the 2017 general election.

Speaking on Thursday at Ekerenyo and Manga town centers when he led the ‘Tokelezea ID’ campaign, Namwamba asked those who had processed for the IDs to follow them up.

He advised the youth that the ID card will enable them elect leaders of their preferred choice, to avoid regrets of the kind of leaders they have elected.

“I ask all people starting with the youth to make sure they have the ID because it is an important document. The card is an important weapon because it can help you in so many areas like in job seeking, voting and nowadays you cannot marry if you don’t have the card,” joked Namwamba.

Namwamba was accompanied by Nyamira MCAs; Robinson Mocheche, James Matinga and Kisii’s Basi Central ward Representative Henry Moracha among others.

Moracha said it was time for change of leadership from old to young, but said that will only be achieved if the youth process for ID and voting cards in time and support youthful leaders with vision.

“We will only achieve our ambition of changing leadership if we process the ID card and voting card in large numbers. It’s time for change and we must stand united if we want to achieve this,” the MCA said.
