Residents of Ndithini ward in Masinga Sub-County have urged the county government of Machakos to uplift Mukothia Dispensary into a health centre to serve them better.
Joseph Muli, the ward representative of the area said that the health facility was ill equipped to cope with many cases from the region. He also told the county health services executive Dr. Nicholas Muraguri to have the facility be uplifted in order to be able to serve the large area well.
Mr. Muli was speaking at Mukothia dispensary where the residents flocked on Saturday after the Beyond Zero Mobile Clinic was handed over to the Sub-County public health officer Mr. James Nzioka.
Muli said that the proposal to have the facility status be upgraded will be tabled in the county assembly for approval as the residents are overwhelming the only dispensary in the ward.
He told the resident of his ward to give him time and remain calm as he represents them in the assembly to ensure the request was met.
