The recent claims by Nyamira deputy governor Amos Nyaribo that a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) was being used to rally against the county leadership have been dismissed by the organisation.

On Saturday during a church fundraiser at Ikonge SDA Church, the deputy Nyamira county boss had accused Nairobi based African Development Group, said to be having close ties with county Senator Mong’are Okong’o, of belittling projects done by the county government, led by governor John Nyagarama.

Speaking at Nyandoche Ibere region during a meet farmers tour, regional coordinator Emmanuel Moguche said the NGO was void of politics and it was aiming at reaching its objective of eradicating poverty among African societies.

“It is quite regrettable that leaders of that stature can link us with 'anti-John Nyagarama' group. We are not in the business of politics and our work is well spelt out. The county leadership should respect our being in Nyamira because this is a continental group that seeks to eradicate poverty in the society,” he said.

He said the group was ready to work with both the county government and those perceived to be critics on matters development.

“When it comes to development, we have to put our differences aside. Everyone is invited to work with us whether in government or in opposition. Ultimately, all we want is to transform our society by trying to eradicate poverty and promoting development, not just politics,” he said.
