Kiambu County government department of health services on Monday morning supplied Nguthiru Level Three Hospital in Delmonte area with drugs and other equipment.
This is after the Thika East Public Health officer Elizabeth Wanjiru raised concerns over the same.
The hospital was launched by the county health boss Dr Jonah Manjari in March, and has been operating like a dispensary due to lack of equipment despite the presence of medics.
According to Wanjiru, the county government had promised the practitioners in the health institution that they would be supplied with equipment immediately, but the process took time forcing the health officer to take the blame and contact the executive severally in vain.
Asked about the incident, Dr Manjari said that the problem of procurement has overwhelmed his department as most of the hospital are in the process of being renovated, thus they had to move at a slower pace.
He added that he is dedicated to delivering quality services, hence he has been consulting his seniors to ensure they bring on board all equipment at a go.
The CeC noted that the process of delivering clean piped water to the hospital has commenced, and it will take three weeks but the county government will supply them with water tanks in the meantime.
Dr Manjari apologised to the area residents for the delay commending the health officer for pushing the county government heads to react on the issue.
