Maendeleo ya Wanaume chairman Nderitu Njoka has said that he will petition parliament to make amendments on the Sexual Offences Act following the rise of domestic violence cases being meted on men.

Addressing journalists from Thika Town on Thursday, Nderitu said that his organisation has already drafted the proposals for the things they want amended in the act.

Among the things the organisation wants to be introduced in the act include life imprisonment for anyone who emasculates by chopping off a man's privates.

"Cutting a man's private is tantamount to killing. Therefore harsh penalties have to be imposed to deter those doing it and potential perpetrators," said Njoka.

He added that they have also proposed for the perpetrators to be denied bail in a court of law saying that they should be treated mercilessly.

"The Bible says that a castrated man is useless. So, anyone who chops a man's privates renders him useless and should be treated like a criminal," he added.

Njoka's announcement comes amid rising cases of increased domestic violence against men where wives have been chopping off their husbands’ privates in some part of the country.
