Kiambu town constituency MP Jude Njomo has asked the National Campaign against Drug Abuse (Nacada) to help rehabilitate drug addicts in the constituency.

Speaking at Munyu Institute of Technology in Thika on Wednesday, Njomo said that there are many drug addicts who need help in Kiambu.

The MP asked Nacada to start programmes that will help the drug addicts. “We must find ways of helping the drug addicts and Nacada should be part of this,” he said.

Njomo noted that the recent crackdown on illegal alcohol and brews has been fruitful.

He said that youths who had been trapped in drinking are now engaging in meaningful activities.

Njomo called on the Kiambu government to give youth’s jobs to prevent them from going back to drinking.

The Kiambu MP has pledge to sponsor 20 reformed alcoholics.

The MP said that he will enroll the reformed alcoholics to train in computer and other courses at the Munyu Institute of Technology.

“I have taken the initiative to payment fees for these young men to get skills which will help them in their lives,” he said.
