Nyamira Senator Mong’are Okong’o has again hit at Governor John Nyagarama over inadequate drugs in county hospitals.

Speaking on Thursday in Manga Sub-county hospital as he donated drugs to the hospital, he told the governor to ensure that there are enough drugs in all public hospitals and health centers to avoid burdening poor residents.

Mong’are donated drugs worth Sh1. 4m to the sub-county hospital and another drugs costing Sh 400, 000 to Mochenwa health center both in Kitutu Masaba constituency.

The senator noted that patients from the county were sent to buy drugs after tests which he said would cause deaths because of poverty.

He said malaria was one of the killer diseases in the county.

“We want governor to equip hospitals with various drugs to help patients who cannot manage to buy them. The hospitals should not miss anti-biotic and anti-malaria because there is spread of malaria in this rain season,” said Mong’are.

He also challenged governor to employ nurses who are on attachment when he will be employing nurses across the county.

“When governor will be employing nurses, we ask him to give those on attachment first priority,” appeal Mong’are.
