A family from Nyamage Location in Kisii County now wants the police to help them search for a kin who was allegedly abducted by anonymous people outside their homestead.
According to them, Charles Rogena, who has been working as a Surveyor with the Ministry of Lands was allegedly abducted by people driving in a saloon car with a foreign registration number and taken to an anonymous location.
Speaking to HiviSasa in their home on Monday, the family members led by Peter Orando said the man had just alighted from his vehicle before he was quickly ordered by armed men to get into the saloon car on Thursday night.
“We are appealing to the police to help us track our brother. We cannot tell the motive behind his kidnap since he had not raised security threats issues with the family but we are concerned that they may harm him. He had barely stayed a day here from Nairobi,” he said.
According to them, the mobile phone of their kin went on ringing without being picked for the better part of Friday before it became unreachable by 5.30pm.
“We called him from Thursday evening to Friday around 5:30 and nobody was responding. The phone has since switchedd off and the police haven’t communicated to us regarding the same,” he added.
Kisii Central OCS Joseph Ndolo confirmed the incident and said police were in the process of tracking the man and his said abductors to rescue him.
“We are really working on the case and I cannot be able to reveal steps we have taken. All I can tell is that we are working with all concerned parties to find the man,” he said.
