Nyamira county Government together with Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) have vowed to work together to repair roads in all constituencies in order to help farmers.

Speaking on Thursday during the opening of the Kisii show at Kisii Green stadium, Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama told the farmers that his county government in partnership with KTDA will repair roads from all constituencies to enhance development.

According to the governor, the road networks in Nyamira county need to be adjusted, so that farmers and businessmen from the county can go about their business without transport problems.

This comes after tea farmers from the county complained of having their tea at the buying centers for more than two days due to poor road especially during the rainy season.

“We are going to repair all roads in our county in partnership with KTDA Company so that our framers can enjoy their faming,” said Nyagarama.

Farmers from Nyamira now have urged the county government to speed up the process and fulfill the promises they made before assuming office.

James Birongo, a resident from Nyasingo, Nyamira County said that the roads the county are in a worsening situation, and urged the county to act fast.
