Residents of Gesima ward in Nyamira County have come to defend their MCA over allegations that he has influenced employment of people to various departments.

This comes few days after a section of Bosamaro and Bogichora residents accused Ken Atuti of working closely with Governor John Nyagarama not only to influence appointments to political offices but also jobs under the jurisdiction of CSPB.

But on Thursday, Gesima residents defended their MCA and asked disgruntled Nyamira residents to desist from dragging the lawmaker to issues that are handled by the CPSB and the executive.

“The accusations that Atuti is influencing employment to various jobs in the county are disrespectful and therefore null and void. I would like to ask those making accusations to substantiate because the work of employing and dismissing is basically the duty of CPSB,” said Tendeka Nyang’ena.

They accused Atuti’s political enemies of working day and night to taint his reputation and future political ambitions of serving the region in a higher office.

“Our MCA is one of the most responsible MCAs in the county and he is basically doing his job of legislating, oversight and representing us very well. His detractors are trying to taint his name because they know he may vie a bigger seat in the county in future,” added Patrick Matara.

Atuti who is also the Deputy leader of Minority termed the allegations as ‘malicious and politically motivated’ and asked residents to dismiss those tainting his name.
